Description
Perioperative care encompasses the continuum from a patient’s initial consultation for a surgical problem through to full recovery post-surgery. Understanding the pathophysiology of surgical stress, dynamics under anesthesia, and potential postoperative issues is crucial. This knowledge enables clinicians to assess, treat, and escalate management effectively. The Perioperative Problem-Based Medicine course at ASC emphasises a patient-centric, multidisciplinary approach to perioperative care, focusing on both clinical and non-technical skills essential for effective team-based management in the operating room.
