- Enhance Proficiency in ECMO Management – Perform ECMO circuit setup, cannulation, anticoagulation management, and weaning protocols for both VV and VA ECMO in critically ill patients.
- Troubleshoot Ventilation and ECMO-Related Complications – Identify and manage asynchronies, ventilator-associated events, ECMO complications, and hypoxemia using real-time decision-making strategies.
- Integrate Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Ventilation – Utilize lung ultrasound and esophageal pressure monitoring to guide mechanical ventilation adjustments and improve personalized care.
Course Description
The Advanced Mechanical Ventilation and ECMO Workshop is an intensive, hands-on training program designed for practicing critical care experts seeking to enhance their expertise in advanced ventilatory strategies and extracorporeal life support (ECMO). This immersive three-day workshop provides a structured blend of theory, hands-on simulation, and real-world application to improve clinical decision-making and procedural proficiency.
Participants will gain practical experience in ventilator setup, advanced modes, lung-protective strategies, and troubleshooting complex cases, along with hands-on ECMO training in circuit management, cannulation, anticoagulation, and weaning protocols. Through interactive case discussions and high-fidelity simulations, this program ensures participants develop the confidence and technical skills required to manage critically ill patients requiring mechanical ventilation and ECMO support effectively.
