With the introduction of more versatile ultrasound devices and new diagnostic applications for ultrasound technologies, Point-of-Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) is increasingly being recognized as a reliable and effective diagnostic and interventional tool used across medical disciplines. PoCUS offers clinician’s immediate answers to diagnostic dilemmas while avoiding harmful radiation exposure and reducing healthcare costs. ASC’s Emergency PoCUS course helps learners understand the basics of ultrasound and gain deeper knowledge on imaging of organ systems. Various exercises on knobology and hand-eye coordination are designed to make learners proficient in equipment handling. Emphasis is given to teamwork and decision making in clinical emergency scenarios.

This is a blended learning course that includes an online module and a contact course. The online lectures are interactive and provide learners with a clear understanding of ultrasound physics and the sonology of systems. The contact course allows learners to receive active, hands-on training from expert doctors in a realistic hospital setting. ASC maintains the optimal ratio of learners to trainers and a wide selection of simulation manikins. Every learner is provided with ample time and space to practice their skills and perfect their techniques.
