Advanced Minimal Access Upper GI Surgery

By Apollo Simulation Centre

Description

Minimal access surgery (MAS) has seen remarkable advancements over the past two decades, offering benefits such as shorter hospital stays, reduced analgesic use, and improved cosmetic outcomes compared to traditional surgery. However, MAS can also present unexpected complications, requiring cautious and skilled practice. The Advanced Minimal Access Upper GI (aMAS Upper GI) programme is designed to help participants learn evidence-based principles and improve their surgical techniques. Hands-on training at the Apollo Simulation Centre (ASC) will refine participants’ skills, reducing the risk of complications. This programme is tailored to both beginners and experienced professionals, covering fundamental topics such as ergonomic principles, dissection, tissue approximation techniques, and anesthetic considerations, along with advanced laparoscopic procedures in upper gastrointestinal surgery.

CME Credits

ASC is applying for certification as a comprehensive Accredited Education Institute by Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. Once accredited, CME credit points will be added to all ASC courses.

Resolution of Conflicts of Interest (COI)

It is important to note that, apart from the instruments presented in sessions, neither ASC nor the invited speakers are motivated to promote any specific medical device brands. Participants are free to use any brand of their choice. The ASC’s industrial and research partners are not involved in the development or organisation of programmes or the selection of experts. All faculty members and healthcare professionals are committed to maintaining professional autonomy and independence in their relationships with the medical device industry.
