Successful management of obstetric emergencies requires the coordinated efforts of a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Simulation training provides an opportunity to learn and master simple as well as complex technical skills needed in crisis situations. ASCOTT ( Obstetrics Simulation training program ) is a comprehensive simulation-based course that uses realistic, high fidelity scenarios to actively train individuals and teams for obstetric crises. The course covers major emergencies that can unfold in a labour ward, theatre and recovery setting including maternal collapse, PPH, eclampsia, shoulder dystocia, Cord prolapse and neonatal resuscitation.

Curriculum
This is a blended learning course that includes an online module and a contact course. The online lectures are interactive and provide learners with a clear understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the organs and the principles of effective treatment. The contact course allows learners to receive active, hands-on training from expert doctors in a realistic hospital setting. ASC maintains the optimal ratio of learners to trainers and a wide selection of simulation manikins. Every learner is provided with ample time and space to practise their skills and perfect their techniques.
